Urap/Gudangan (Mix vegetables with grated coconut)

This food from Java. In the pass time, I can't enjoy to eat this food. After all in my mind, to make Gudangan is very complicated. But, in not longer time I changed my mind when I stopped in my uncle's home at Bintaro. He cooked Gudangan very delicious, and it made me be anxious how to make it. So, in the view days I asked Ibuk (my mom) how to make it. Then I try, it's simple fact. And the result was more delicious.....

Urap spices (bumbu urap):
2 cloves of garlic
2 red chillies
1 cm greater galingale, a root crob resembling ginger (kencur)
2 sheets leaf of small fragnant (daun jeruk)
Salt and red sugar to taste
You can also add terasi (condiment made from pounded and fermented shrimp or small fish)

1/2 grated coconut (choose the green one)

Boiled vegetables :
Spinach, slices of carrots, bean sprouts, slices of legumes

  1. Mix the grated coconut and urap spices on a bowl.
  2. Serve the boiled vegetables and urap (result no. 1) mixed or separated. Serving them mixed are not long lasting.
Gudangan is also tasty when serve with Baceman.
